Had an amazing dinner at Jinbei in Irvine. We sat right at the sushi bar and let the chef take the lead, which was absolutely the right call. Everything was fresh, super flavorful, and came out perfectly paced. The chef was friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in what he’s doing. A few dishes we never would’ve ordered ourselves ended up being our favorites. The vibes are relaxed, the fish quality is top-tier, and the whole experience just feels special without being stuffy. Easily one of the best sushi nights we’ve had in Orange County. Highly recommend letting the chef choose—trust me, you’ll be happy you did.

Amazing lunch combos! The quality is great and at an excellent price. To get the limited combos you have to get hear early. We lined up about 15 minutes before opening which was perfect to get in on the first wave for a weekend lunch. The servers were very quick and the presentation is great. I enjoyed my meal and would love to return soon.

Love the lunch special! Also recently went for dinner and the vibe was chill and cozy. I liked that they had chill, peaceful, calm music playing. Music is very important for me. Fish super fresh, fresh wasabi so good too.

Hands down best sushi I have ever had in Orange County / LA. The quality of the fish was remarkable, so buttery and soft. As a big sushi lover I have not had this quality of sushi anywhere!! Anyone who says different does not understand the taste of high quality fish. I would go back and eat at this restaurant every day. We sat at the bar and from receiving our first piece of sushi realized this was our new spot. Everything was perfect and the sushi chef chose all our pieces which added so much fun to the dinner. Not one thing wasn’t good- I would give this restaurant 10 stars if allowed if you’re looking for good sushi and good atmosphere this is the place. Also not expensive at all!

Went last Thursday on a whim with a friend and can't believe we have such a nice restaurant in Irvine. Service, quality, and presentation were nothing short of amazing. Seems like they're packed all the time. We ordered the orange clam and seaweed w miso vinegar (so flavorful), split the 5 kinds of sashimi, and ordered two pastas--mentai cream and uni. The fish quality here is extremely good; hamachi (amberjack, nice fattiness) and the hotate (scallops, tasted very clean) were my favorite. I was craving mentaiko cream for the longest time; my go-to place for this is Pasta e Pasta in LA, but now that I know Jinbei's is equally as good I'm happy I don't need to travel as far for it. Portion size for pasta is really good! Pastas were al dente and the cream was nice and light--not heavy; mentaiko and uni flavor was all there. Total was around $40ish/person splitting the check. Definitely will come back, probably to have sushi for dinner this time.

Super yummy place. Small on the inside so there is usually a wait. But the wait was not long at all. We came around 1 pm and they closed at 2pm. You just order and write down what you want and give them the paper so it’s easy. Food is good. Seaweed salad doesn’t have as much seaweed as I imagined it would. It has a lot of other ingredients and some of the stuff was a little bitter. But they gave free refills on the miso soup at the end. The sushi was amazing. Super good. No complaints. Overall nice place. Would come again.
